AIRLINE THAT OFFERS AIR TRAVEL WITH DOGS
BARK Air, a U.S. airline specializing in air travel for pet dogs, has launched its inaugural flight from New York to Los Angeles.
Matt Meeker, CEO of Bark, the parent company of a pet product subscription service, was inspired to create an airline for dogs based on his own experiences of flying with his pet.
The airline offers various services to reduce dogs’ anxiety and stress during flights, including a dedicated check-in system, in-flight spa treatments for dogs, champagne, and more.
Standard flights accommodate 10 pets, and the cost for one owner and one dog is $8,000 for international flights and $6,000 for domestic flights. However, Meeker anticipates that prices will decrease in the future.
The airline is also exploring the addition of seasonal services to Florida and Arizona, as well as routes to Paris, Milan, Chicago, and Seattle.
