VIEW OF MT. FUJI AT THE BACK OF LAWSON FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO BRANCH WILL NOW BE BLOCKED
To address safety concerns caused by tourists crossing roads to take photos of Mt. Fuji behind a convenience store in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi Prefecture, the town has decided to install black curtains along the sidewalks.
Despite previous measures like multilingual signs and security guards, incidents persisted, prompting the installation of a 20-meter-long, 2.5-meter-high fence. This construction aims to prevent unauthorized entry and enhance safety, with completion expected by mid-month. The town hopes these actions will help alleviate tourist congestion and improve the situation.
