ANUNSYO SA TREN, ITA-TRANSLATE AS TEXT MESSAGE SA MGA SMARTPHONE SUSUBUKAN SA TOKYO METRO STATION
Yamaha and Tokyo Metro will introduce a trial service called “Visible Announcements,” allowing station announcements to be displayed as text on smartphones without requiring an app.
This initiative aims to enhance information access for diverse users, including those with hearing impairments and foreign tourists. Additionally, the app “Hospitality Guide for Biz,” enabling station staff to make multilingual announcements, will be implemented at all Tokyo Metro stations, excluding those under the management of other companies.“Visible Announcements” consists of a Trigger Board and “Hospitality Guide for Biz.”
By holding a smartphone to the Trigger Board or scanning a QR code, users can view text representations of announcements made through “Hospitality Guide for Biz” at that station. This service, allowing text display on smartphones without installing a dedicated app, is a first in Japan. The trial of “Visible Announcements” will commence at seven stations, including Ueno and Asakusa, starting January 10, 2024.
