Cebu Pacific, a major low-cost airline, operated the first commercial flight completely using bio-aviation fuel (SAF) between Narita and Manila.

The company aims to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Japan’s ITOCHU Corporation has partnered with Cebu Pacific to import and supply SAF purchased from a fuel manufacturing plant operated by Nestlé in Singapore to Japan. 

Cebu Pacific has already introduced jet fuel containing 35% SAF on regular flights between Singapore and Manila in 2022.
