WHERE TO CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN IN TOKYO (ASIDE FROM SHIBUYA)

Every year, it is expected that Shibuya will draw crowds during Halloween time. This famous celebration has been cancelled two years in a row due to pandemic and as expected, on the third year, people, especially the young ones were excited to celebrate again in the famous crossing.

Last year, in Seoul, Korea, people were also excited to celebrate the halloween festivities without restriction in their country however, the celebration was cut short when people started collapsing as they were being crushed and suffocated due to overcrowding in the narrow alleyways of Itaewon. 159 casualties were reported, including foreigners.

This year, the mayor of Shibuya is asking everyone to avoid celebrating in Shibuya this coming halloween to prevent any type of similar incident from happening. The mayor also requested to ban the sales of alcohol in the area. In the past, halloween celebrations also caused major disruptions in the businesses around Shibuya because of drunk people and fights occurring.
