EDUCATIONAL MUSEUMS YOU CAN VISIT IN TOKYO

For our readers who have kids and wants to go out but do not want to break the bank, there are educational museums that you can visit in Tokyo. These museums are free of charge.

1. POLICE MUSEUM IN KYOBASHI CHUO-KU 

There are 6 floors to explore. 1st floor is the Pipo-kun hall. Pipo is the mascot of the Police Department of Japan. Children can enjoy wearing mini police uniforms and have their picture taken beside a police car. Children uniforms are not available during Wednesday. 2nd floor is the Protecting the people corner. There are dioramas, 110 call simulation experience which is very helpful in case of emergencies. Bicycle driving simulation also available. 3rd floor is the Ability to solve incidents and accidents floor. You can do police box experience with finger printing simulation. Floors from 1-3 are okay for photography however you cannot take picture from floors 4-6. 4th and 5th floor is the Protecting the Capital and History of the Police from then until today. 6th floor is the event hall. 2. PARASITE MUSEUM IN MEGURO 

There are 2 floors in these museums that you can explore. However, each floors are divided into different sections. 1st floor is called the Diversity of Parasites and the 2nd floor is where you can find the display of parasites that can be found on Human body. There is no entrance fee when visiting the Parasite Museum however they do encourage donations from visitors. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and sometimes Wednesday if the holiday falls in Monday.

3. JAPAN CURRENCY MUSEUM IN NIHONBASHI

In this museum you will learn about the history of the Japan yen. They are divided into 4 categories; the Ancient times, the Medieval times; the Early Modern times and the Modern times. They are open daily except Monday except when Monday is a holiday and during year end holiday. Please note that prior to entering the premises, you will pass through an x-ray scanner and metal detector. You may check their E-BOOK first to know what to expect when you visit the museum.
