THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU CAN RENT IN JAPAN
Aside from cellphone, wifi and Kimono rental, there are lots of things you can rent in Japan that you probably didn’t know. In this blog, we will share some of those.
1. RENTAL FURNITURES
For those who will be moving to Japan for a short period of time, rather than buying things and disposing them later on, might as well rent the things you need especially the bulky ones. Disposing items in Japan can be a little bit tricky. First, you must identify if the item can be disposed using a normal garbage bag or you need to buy a seal and schedule a pick up from the city’s garbage collection agency. You can also pay those companies who can pick up and dispose of your furnitures on your behalf. The amount will depend on how many items you need to dispose and the size of vehicle they need to use. To avoid all the hassles, you can just rent things like a bed, fridge or sofa online and have them delivered in your address. Prices depend on the item. Of course, this is not recommended if you intend to stay longer as it can be expensive in the long run.

2. NAMA BEER TAP
Kirin company launched the hometap service during the peak of the pandemic. Since people cannot go out and everyone was encouraged to stay home, they released a nama beer tap that you can use at home. Enjoy the good old delicious beer at home. When you rent or subscribe in the beer tap service, it includes 4 litres of Kirin beer. The trial of this service starts at 5,060 yen and you can cancel within 22 days at no extra cost.

3. SPACE
As most people know, rental apartments or mansions in Japan have minimal spaces. You must utilize your space carefully to avoid being cramped. This is why multi-use furnitures have been developed. Bed with drawers underneath, a futon instead of bed and pots and pans that share handles to avoid using too much space, to name a few. However, did you know that you can rent a space at very minimal cost? This is why Sumally Pocket was created. Choose the size of the box you need, put the things that you don’t need as of the moment and store it in their space. The economy plan with regular box starts at 275 yen monthly. You can store your books or winter clothes that you will not wear during summer and just take them out when you need them. A great space saver! Just a note, you have to pay 1,100 yen for regular box when you take it out. I still say it is cost effective since they can pick up anywhere and deliver it wherever you prefer. Totally helpful for people planning to move apartments/houses.

You can rent 3 stylish type of clothing monthly at a very reasonable price. What’s good about this service is that there are professional stylist that will help you with picking clothes that suit your body type and style. They are partnered with different brands, so you can try different clothing and still not hurt your wallet. You can choose from their Light plan and Light plus plan. You can cancel anytime. By the way, they have sizes from S to 3L. Shipping fee will be added to your chosen monthly rate.
